Dr. Concetta Tomaino on the Seizing Life Podcast: Exploring Music Therapy for Neurologic Conditions

How music therapy supports healing for people with epilepsy and other neurologic conditions.

IMNF Executive Director, Dr. Concetta Tomaino, was recently featured on CURE Epilepsy’s Seizing Life podcast in an episode titled “Music Therapy for Neurologic Conditions: Understanding How it Works.”

In this engaging conversation, Dr. Tomaino explains how music activates areas of the brain associated with memory, movement, and emotion—providing a powerful, nonverbal way to reach individuals with neurologic conditions such as epilepsy, stroke, and dementia. Drawing from decades of clinical and research experience, she shares insights into how music can help improve communication, alleviate symptoms, and support healing even when other approaches fall short.
